Karnataka Prantha Raita Sangha (KPRS), a wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxists), in association with 10 other organisations launched a three-day campaign against the Union government’s Ordinance on land Acquisition here on Wednesday.

The campaign was launched from Deputy Commissioner’s office. The campaign, launched in vehicle, will tour Kuttar, Harekala and Pavoor in Mangaluru on Wednesday.

The vehicle would be in B.C. Road, Polali, Gurupura, Kaikamba and Yedapadavu on Thursday. On the last day on April 24 it would campaign in Venoor, Belthangady, Ujire and Kokkada.

Addressing a gathering while launching the campaign, K.R. Shreyan, a leader of CPI (M), alleged that the Ordinance was aimed at helping capitalists in their investment and it would not benefit farmers. It would only widen the gap between the rich and the poor.

Organisations like Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha, various factions of Dalita Sangarsha Samithi, Karnataka Gowers’ Federation have supported the campaign.
