Swiss Ambassador visits Mangaluru

Linus Von Castelmur, Ambassador of Switzerland to India, who visited Mangaluru on Wednesday, stressed the need to speed up the stamping of the Free Trade Agreement between India and Switzerland.

Mr. Castelmur visited the Mangaluru SEZ and the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with Velanti Suryanarayana, Vice President of IL & FS.

Gaana Yaana programme

Information and Public Relations Department has organised Gaana Yaana programme, featuring old Kannada cinema songs, at Moodbidri on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Alva’s College and on Monday at 3 p.m. at Mangaluru University College. The programme will be conducted by Ede Tumbi Haaduvenu fame child artistes and Mysore R.K. Theatre, who would explain the background of every song before rendering it, said an official release.

‘Collect only revised fares’

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has asked autorickshaw and bus operators to collect the revised fares from passengers, which came into effect from January 12. The operators have to compulsorily display the revised fare charts in the vehicles and adhere to the same. If the operators insist on collecting the higher fares, passengers may complain to the transport department or the police.
