Renal health awareness drive

A two-month renal health awareness drive, organised by the Mangalore Nephro-Urology Charitable Trust, will be inaugurated by the Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader on Tuesday near Jyothi Circle at 10 a.m.

Drawing competition

Prasad Art Gallery has organised a drawing competition for school children on its 20th anniversary celebrations at its premises, Ballalbagh, from 9.30 a.m. on January 18. Students of LKG to Class 1 can draw any picture of their choice; those from Class 2 to 4 have to draw on the Beach Festival; students from Class 5 to 7 have to draw a picture on playing with animals and those from Class 8 to 10 have to draw on art exhibition. Inauguration of mortuary today

Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader will inaugurate a mortuary built by the Lions Club of Mulki to mark the zonal conference of Lions International District 317-D on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Ministers B. Ramanath Rai and K. Abhayachandra Jain and functionaries of Lions Club will attend the event.

Distribution of

smart cards

The Labour Department has arranged for the distribution of smart cards to Beedi workers to provide healthcare facilities under the National Health Insurance Mission at various places in the district from Tuesday till month-end. Cards will be distributed at Bharat Beedi Works, K.C. Road, Thalapady, and Southern India Beedi Works, Ombhattukere, Someshwara Road, Ullal, between January 12 and January 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Polio drive on January 18

The first round of the pulse polio drive 2015 would be conducted across the district on January 18. Children up to five years old may get two drops of polio vaccine administered. Along with 921 booths, 10 mobile units will be used and 26 transit teams will do the job at bus stations, railway stations and other places with floating population.
