A country boat capsized in the sea near Meenakaliya in Baikampady. A fisherman is feared drowned.
According to the police, seven fishermen, including Premnath (30), had gone in a country boat belonging to Ashok Mendon. It was among the many country boats that had left for fishing on Sunday morning.
Following strong winds, Ashok Mendon’s boat capsized and the seven fishermen were stuck in the water. Fishermen in another country boat rescued six of them. The Coastal Security Police, the Coast Guards and local fishermen are searching for Premnath.
