BJP workers urged to piggyback on ‘Modi wave’

While taking a vow better party’s performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party asked the cadre to ride on the wave created by projecting Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate.

Speaking at the district-level party workers’ meet here on Saturday, Dakshina Kannada district BJP president Prathap Simha Nayak said people wanted to get rid of the UPA Government at the Centre and his party had been vested with the responsibility of fulfilling the aspirations of the people. Indirectly indicating the need to project Mr. Modi, Mr. Nayak said the party should ensure election of persons who have the ability to provide better leadership at the Centre.

Former MLA Sundar Rao said people had high hopes from the BJP and had perceived its candidates to be clean. It turned out otherwise and as a result the BJP performance in the State was poor during the Assembly elections. But this should not dishearten party workers, who should work towards regaining the lost glory of the party in Karnataka. MLC Ganesh Karnik also spoke.
