BJP sets up NaMo tea stall

February 02, 2014 02:23 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 08:00 pm IST - Mangalore:

Taking a dig at Congress leader Mani Shanker Aiyer’s jibe at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate M. Narendra Modi’s tea seller days, the BJP has started a NaMo Tea Stall here on Saturday.

Mr. Aiyer’s statement that Mr. Modi could serve tea at the AICC meet triggered a furore among BJP workers that culminated in the Chai pe charcha (a discussion over tea) programme.

Workers said this was the first such tea stall – a symbolic stall that sells tea at Rs. 1 and is accompanied by videos of Mr. Modi’s campaign — in the city.
