Bajrang Dal plan to raid bar foiled

February 03, 2013 12:07 pm | Updated 12:07 pm IST - Mangalore:

The plan of Bajrang Dal to raid G6 music bar in Valencia in the city was averted after the police landed at the place and stopped the pub from conducting a party that involved two disc jockeys. Mangalore South police said they had been informed of the raid in the afternoon, and consequently arrived at the spot. Though no case was filed, the police seized the DJ equipment; citing license terms that disallow live music in the bar.

“After right-wing activists stormed into an ice cream parlour a couple of days ago, we decided to take no chances. When we went to the bar, we found that they did not have license to play live music. We have seized the equipment, and disbanded the party,” said a police official.
