Babu Mogaveera to be felicitated

Yakshagana is the colourful and spirited performing art of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. With the aim to popularise it in the city as well as to captivate Tulu-speaking people in the city, Yakshadegula is holding a symposium and workshop on Yakshagana at the Nayana auditorium, Kannada Bhavan, off J.C. Road, here on Sunday. Experts and noted Yakshagana artistes will deliver lectures on the art.

Redoubtable artistes, including award-winners Lambodara Hegade, Devaraja Dasa, Bhaskar Bhandari, Madhava Manuru, Sudarshan Urala, Thammanna Gaonkar, Udaya Hegade, Ganesh Uppunda, Kadle Ganapathi and Narasimha Thunga will perform Dharmangada Digvijaya.

Yakshadegula members will honour Babu Mogaveera, senior Yakshagana artiste, on the occasion.
