Young artist Guruprasad M. Hegde’s painting of a bull depicts the way youngsters need to surge ahead tackling the problems that come their way. He depicts this in a series of three paintings — a running bull in red, blue and black combinations
These paintings by Mr. Hegde are among those exhibited at Prasad Arts Gallery in Ballalbagh. The works of Mr. Hegde and his five classmates from the Government Fine Arts School in Dharwad are on display at an exhibition, “Artic Vision”, here. The exhibition will end on January 24. The first set of paintings that draws the attention of visitors is of three friends of Pallavi R.G. The faces of three persons in different colour shades show their jovial moods. I. Yethiraj has his paintings of old houses. One of his paintings depicts a market place. Laxminarayana Bhat’s three paintings are on the theme, “save forests”. Manjunath Achar’s paintings showing people engrossed in stone sculpture “Is to drive the message of the need to save the sculptures painstakingly produced by yesteryear artists.” C.V. Naik has captured the different moods of Yakshagana artistes in his three paintings.
