Members of the district unit of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DFYI) took out a padayatra on Monday from Panjimogaru to the city police headquarters demanding that the accused in twin murder case reported in the Panjimogaru area on June 28 last be arrested in seven days.

Razia (35) and and her daughter Fatima Zuha (8) were murdered in the broad daylight outside their house in Panjimogaru.

Protestors included family members of the victims and residents of Panjimogaru.

Addressing the protesters, unit president Muneer Katipalla said that the accused should be arrested within seven days. If not, the DYFI would intensify its agitation, he added.

Mr. Katipalla said despite several protests neither the State government nor the police took action to arrest the accused. Residents of Panjimogaru and DYFI members would camp outside the Police Commissioner's office if the case was not solved soon.

Leader of Centre of Indian Trade Unions Vasant Achari and leader of Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane Bharati Bolar spoke.
