The process of admissions for foreign nationals, persons of Indian origin and non-resident Indians under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme for undergraduate courses in engineering/architecture for 2014–15 has been launched.
The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, located on the outskirts of Mangalore, will coordinate the DASA scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for the fifth consecutive year.
Admission to NITsIn a statement, the NITK said that students could seek admission to National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Schools of Planning and Architecture and other premier technical institutions in India.
Forty institutions are participating in DASA 2014–15. There are 2,345 seats for B.Tech., B.Arch. and B.Plng.
Minimum qualificationsStudents who have secured at least 60 per cent aggregate marks or 6.75 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) in senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and any one subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science and Biology in Class 11 and/or 12 and having a valid SAT score (Mathematics II, Physics and Chemistry) of at least 1,440 are eligible to apply.
Applications should be submitted online before May 26, 2014.
