Admissions open for course in Gandhian and Peace Studies

Admissions for the third batch of the certificate course in Gandhian and Peace Studies is open now and the last date for submitting applications is August 29.

The course is conducted by the Centre for Gandhian and Peace Studies of Manipal University here.

A press release here on Monday said that the course will start on September 1, and continue till October 30.

The classes will be held on three days (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) in a week in the evening from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The curriculum for the course includes: Gandhi’s Life, Philosophy, Ethics and Politics; Peace: Home and the World; Economy, Ecology, Science, Technology and Health; Journalism, Literature, Arts and Aesthetics; Women, Dalits and Ideologies; Education and Social Work; Leadership and Management; and Globalisation and Social Movements.

“When the world is confronted with violence of every kind and inequality is writ large in every walk of life, the three-credit certificate course intends to engage with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi with a focus on welfare of all, that is, Sarvodaya in Gandhian epistemology,” said Varadesh Hiregange, centre director.
