Gurudev S.H., the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur parliamentary seat, said the party is getting tremendous response in the constituency.

Speaking to presspersons before an election rally, Mr. Gurudev said the people had tried both – the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance governments. They realized that these two formations had little to offer to the people, he said.

The people wanted to give a chance to the AAP as it represented clean and transparent politics, he said.

They thought that the AAP would put in real efforts to solve the problems of the people. Mr. Gurudev said the AAP would reduce the corruption in the country, which was the bane of most of the problems.

He said the corruption prevailing in the past 10 years during the period of the UPA government was unprecedented and that people were fed up of its inefficiency and scams. On the other hand, Mr. Gurudev said there was media hype over the so-called development in Gujarat. The progress in Gujarat was not what was made out to be. It was simply the progress of minuscule minority of rich persons. The lot of the common had not improved there, the AAP candidate said.

The members of AAP took out a jatha from Jodu Katte to City Bus Stand, and from there to Malpe.
