People in the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate have now got a dedicated phone number to air their grievances or complaints regarding traffic issues through WhatsApp.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Uma Prashanth launched the number, 9480802303, in the presence of City Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya here on Friday.

Though the police earlier had “Kudla Traffic” number on 9480802312, the new number is exclusively meant to deal with traffic issues, Ms. Prashanth said.

She said the public may send in their feedback and grievances, including pictures and videos, to the number which will be monitored by a dedicated team of personnel at traffic automation centre, Kadri, round the clock.

Mention the specifics

While sending traffic violation complaints, the people would have to clearly mention the date, time and the place of the event and also send pictures where registration numbers of the offending vehicles are clearly visible.

The Police Commissioner said the control room and traffic police officials were getting a whole lot of complaints since Mangaluru has a variety of traffic related issues.
