P. Harishekaran is new IGP Western Range

P. Harishekaran will be the new Inspector- General of Police (Western Range).

He will be the 12th IGP of the range comprising Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru district police units.

Mr. Harishekaran, a 1996 batch IPS officer, replaces J. Arun Chakravarthy, who has been posted as the Inspector- General of Police (Internal Security), Bengaluru.

Mr. Harishekaran is among the many officers transferred by the State Government on Saturday.

Mr. Harishekaran (49) is a native of Tamil Nadu. He is a postgraduate in Arts and knows Tamil, Hindi and Kannada. He has worked in different positions and was recently the Additional Commissioner of Police (East), Bengaluru city.

Among the other IPS officers who have been transferred are C.B. Ryshyanth, who was working as Additional Superintendent of Police, Puttur Sub Division. Mr. Ryshyanth has been transferred as Superintendent of Police, Bagalkote.

Mr. Ryshyanth, a 2013 batch IPS officer, worked as Assistant Superintendent of Police, Puttur Sub Divsion, since October 13, 2015.

Patil Vinayak Vasantrao is the new Superintendent of Police, Karwar. He worked as Superintendent of Police of Yadgir district.

The incumbent, C. Vamsi Krishna, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Haveri, vice B. Ramesh, who will be the new new SP of Ramanagaram.
