19 hospitals in DK to treat endosulfan victims free

The hospitals would have to submit the bills to the government.

Dakshina Kannada district administration has identified 19 hospitals in the district to provide cashless treatment to endosulfan victims, said Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim.

The government would bear the cost of the treatment, he said on Thursday. The hospitals would have to submit the bills to the government. The government would sign an agreement with the hospitals to this effect shortly, he said at a meeting to review relief measures for endosulfan affected families, here on Thursday.

He said that the district administration would soon send a proposal to the State government to release Rs. 5 lakh as compensation to the family if an endosulfan victim in the family dies.
