May 15, 2014 01:34 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:58 pm IST - MANGALORE:

The vacation bench of the District Sessions Court on Wednesday granted interim stay against 11 news channels from telecasting anything related to complaint filed by Satish Shetty against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

This ex-parte stay was granted on an interim application accompanying the original suit filed by Mr. Kateel seeking permanent injunction against the 11 news channels. Mr. Kateel filed this suit a day after Mr. Shetty filed a complaint with the Mangalore North police station accusing Mr. Kateel of having illicit relationship with Mr. Shetty’s wife.

Mr. Kateel’s counsel Shambhu Sharma said that the court restrained the channels from telecasting or broadcasting any information about the complaint till further orders.
