Youth killed in fight over pasting posters

A scuffle following a dispute over pasting of obituary poster on the wall of a marriage hall where an auspicious function was to be held on Sunday led to the death of a youth in Jaihindpuram here on Sunday.

The police said that the deceased, , S.Sheik Ibrahim (21), along with A. Mohammed Salem, was pasting posters on the death of their friend's father in the locality.

When they tried to paste the obituary posters on the wall of a marriage hall at around 1.30 a.m., few persons at the marriage hall objected to it.

They claimed that an auspicious function had been planned at the hall and asked them not to paste them.

However, the youth picked up an argument with them. The heated exchanged turned to worst when members of the other group started attacking them with clubs.

Both the youth sustained head injuries and Ibrahim succumbed later.

The Jaihindpuram police have registered a case of murder against five persons
