Youngsters participate in procession

A padayatra from Kanyakumari to Chennai stressing twenty point demands came to Thirupparankundram on Sunday evening.

The Padayatra organised by Indian People Federation for Social Change has 25 youngsters who had started their procession by foot at Kanyakumari on April 14 and are expected to reach Chennai on May 16.

Memorandum

The organisers have planned to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and submit a memorandum.

The organisers said that the padayatra among other things stressed on employment opportunities youth, demanding the State to drop the idea of re-employing retired employees, to revamp agricultural production, support agriculture and allied activities on a large scale, giving top priority to Tamil language.
