Construction of the master complex for World Tamil Sangam here will be completed by next Pongal, according to M. Rajaram, Secretary, Tamil Development and Information.

Addressing a seminar on ‘Glory of ancient Tamils,’ organised here on Saturday, Dr. Rajaram said that work on a museum on Sangam Tamil was nearing completion. Construction of the master complex had been taken up at a cost of Rs. 25 crore. The works of Subramania Bharati and Bharatidasan had been translated into the Chinese language by the Tamil University. With its translation now available in the Chinese language and Latin, Tirukkural earned the distinction of being the only work to have been translated into most of the world languages.

Those who addressed the seminar included Tamil scholars R. Mohan, G. Gnanasambandan and N. Chandran. K. Pasumpon, Special Officer (in charge), World Tamil Sangam, welcomed the gathering.
