A woman employee of a fireworks unit K. Ramalakshmi (45) was killed in a fire accident at a cracker unit in Maraneri near here on Monday.
The police said friction while handling explosive materials while making crackers led to the fire killing her on the spot at around 1.30 pm.
A male worker T. Selvaraj (45) sustained 30 per cent burns. He was admitted to the Government Hospital here. One of the working sheds was damaged. The Maraneri Police are investigating.
