Nagamalai Pudukottai police have registered a case of rape against a youth, Thavusikan, for refusing to marry her after having sexual relationship with a mother of a child.
The police said that the complainant, a 32-year-old woman from Kodungaiyur had been living with her parents after she got separated from her husband.
The mother of a child became friendly with Thavusikan over Facebook. The man had secretly married the woman by exchanging rings. He also had sexually exploited her.
However, he suddenly stopped meeting her. When the woman came in search of him to his home in Nagamalai Pudukottai, the man’s family members had reportedly abused her and threatened her.
