Tirunelveli has 24.94 lakh voters

Collectors release final electoral rolls

The district has 24,94,727 voters, including 12,29,065 men voters, 12,65,573 women electorate and 89 other voters as per the final electoral roll released here by Collector Sandeep Nanduri on Wednesday.

The electoral roll, prepared after the summary revision done between October 3 and December 15 to include, delete and correct the names in the voters’ list, has more number of women voters — 36,508 women electorate more than the men voters.

When the draft electoral roll was released on October 3 last, the district had 25,16,309 voters, including 12,38,651 men, 12,77,579 women and 79 other voters. After the names of 21,582 voters were deleted during the summary revision, the district now has 24,94,727 voters.

Though the officials received 27,158 applications from young aspiring voters, including 13,400 men, 13,746 women and 12 other voters for adding their names in the electoral roll, only 26,427 applications of 13,082 men, 13,333 women and 12 others were accepted.

Moreover, names of 48,009 voters were deleted from the list as the voters had moved out of their present address or dead. A total of 10,746 double entries were also found during the summary revision and subsequently got deleted.

Voters in each constituency

Sankarankovil (SC): Men – 1,15,724; women – 1,21,276; others – 4; Total – 2,37,004.

Vasudevnallur (SC): Men – 1,10,025; women – 1,12,026; others – 10; Total – 2,22,061.

Kadayanallur - Men – 1,34,029; women – 1,34,296; others – 5; Total – 2,68,330.

Tenkasi - Men – 1,31,776; women – 1,35,106; others – 4; Total – 2,66,886.

Alangulam - Men – 1,19,713; women – 1,25,036; others – Nil; Total – 2,44,749.

Tirunelveli - Men – 1,33,302; women – 1,38,254; others – 32; Total – 2,71,588.

Ambasamudram - Men – 1,14,983; women – 1,21,165; others – 4; Total – 2,36,152.

Palayamkottai - Men – 1,25,540; women – 1,30,033; others – 22; Total – 2,55,595.

Nanguneri - Men – 1,22,437; women – 1,24,425; others – 4; Total – 2,46,866.

Radhapuram - Men – 1,21,536; women – 1,23,956; others – 4; Total – 2,45,496.

While the young first-time voters can get their colour voter identity cards free of cost from the e-seva centres in the taluk offices concerned, those who had submitted applications for corrections or address change in the voter ID card should pay ₹ 25.

The final electoral roll will be displayed at the Offices of Booth Officers, Polling Station Officers, Residents’ Welfare Associations under the Corporation limits and also on the Election Commission of India’s website www.nvsp.in, Mr. Sandeep said.

Sub-Collector, Cheranmahadevi, P. Akash, Assistant Collector (Training) Ilam Bhagavath and Revenue Divisional Officer, Tenkasi, Rajendran, were present.

Kanniyakumari

Kanniyakumari district has 14,76,240 lakh voters, including 7,43,357 men, 7,32,734 women and 149 other voters, as per the final electoral roll released by Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan.

When the summary revision was conducted, 15,640 young voters were added to the list while names of 31,360 electorate were deleted, Mr. Chavan said.

Number of voters: Kanniyakumari - Men – 1,36,572; women – 1,35,830; others – 65; Total – 2,72,467; Nagercoil - Men – 1,23,238; women – 1,24,905; others – 13; Total – 2,48,156; Colachel - Men – 1,29,148; women – 1,22,958; others – 16; Total – 2,52,122; Padmanabhapuram - Men – 1,14,555; women – 1,09,549; others – 18; Total – 2,24,122; Vilavancode - Men – 1,19,178; women – 1,23,711; others – 20; Total – 2,42,909; Killiyoor - Men – 1,20,666; women – 1,15,781; others – 17; Total – 2,36,464.

Thoothukudi

Thoothukudi district comprising six Assembly constituencies has a total electorate of 13, 97,277, including 6,87,859 men, 7,09, 330 women and 88 transgenders, in the revised electoral roll.

Collector N. Venkatesh released the list here on Thursday. The revised electoral roll includes an addition of 7,288 men, 7,935 women and 6 transgenders, the Collector said after releasing it.

Besides, 30,931 electors were deleted from the rolls for various reasons.

Constituency-wise electors: In Vilathikulam, there are 2,07,794 voters of whom 1,02,363 are men, 1,05,429 women and two transgenders. The total electorate in Thoothukudi is 2,76,925, of whom men total to 1,36,308, women 1,40,579 and 38 transgenders.

While in Tiruchendur, the total voters are 2,28,392 – 1,11,342 men, 1,17,035 women and 15 transgenders, Srivaikuntam has a total electorate of 2,08,144 with 1,03,212 men, 1,04,928 women and 4 transgenders.

Ottapidaram has 2,27,578 total voters of whom 1,12,030 are men, 1,15,531 women and 17 transgenders. Kovilpatti constituency has 2, 48,444 voters with 1, 22,604 men, 1,25,828 women and 12 transgenders.
