Vijayakant to campaign in Madurai on April 3

The women’s wing members of NDA alliance parties including the DMDK, BJP, MDMDK, PMK and IJK had a meeting to discuss the campaign strategy during the course of the Lok Sabha poll campaign.

Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam president Vijayakant’s election campaign in Madurai Lok Sabha constituency will take place on April 3.

As per the schedule announced by the party here on Saturday, he will address three meetings on April 3.

At 3 p.m. on that day, he will address election meeting from his campaign vehicle at Melur.

Later, he would speak at K.Pudur bus stand at 6 p.m. followed by another meeting near Dinamani talkies at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance candidate D.Sivamuthukumar of DMDK will file his nomination papers at the collectorate here on April 4.

On Saturday, the women’s wing members and cadres of NDA alliance parties including the DMDK, BJP, MDMDK, PMK and IJK had a meeting where they worked out the campaign strategy to be adopted during the course of the LS poll campaign.

“We have decided to mobilise a large number of women for our leader Vijayakant’s meetings. They are an important support base for us. Door-to-door canvassing will be undertaken to garner votes for DMDK,” Mr.Sivamuthukumar said. He is launching his election campaign on April 2 from Narasingam temple near Othakadai.

Those who participated in the women’s wing meeting included DMDK State leader Theni Murugesan, MLA A.K.T. Raja and deputy secretary of women’s wing Chandra.

On Saturday evening, the Hindu Munnani organised a meeting in Jaihindpuram in support of the NDA candidate.
