Police said that S. Paramasivam (58), a retired official from a private firm, had parked the two-wheelers within the compound of his house. On hearing some noise and seeing smoke from the vehicles, inmates of the house raised an alarm. The gang fled, leaving behind a mobile phone and a two-wheeler at the spot. While one vehicle was fully destroyed, the other was partly damaged in the fire. As the complainant claimed that there was no enmity, police are examining the reason behind the offence.
