Two trains for Madurai division

Madurai Division has got two trains in the railway budget presented by the Union Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda on Tuesday.

The Madurai-Jaipur Premium Weekly Express, which was recently introduced, has been regularised in the budget, the Divisional Railway Manager, A.K. Rastogi, said.

“The all-air-conditioned premium train comes with a dynamic fare on the lines of airfares. It gives an additional train. Since, railway agents are not allowed to book tickets for these trains, people need not depend on any middleman for getting a confirmed berth,” he added.

The train was enjoying good patronage among the passengers, he said.

Besides, the budget announced a tourist rain that would start from Rameswaram covering pilgrim and tourist places like Bengaluru, Chennai, Ayodhya, Varanarasi and Haridwar, he added.

The Minister has given thrust to cleanliness with huge increase in budgetary allocation, he said. A budgetary allocation of Rs. Rs. 265 crore had been made for the Villupuram-Dindigul (with electrification) had been made for the year 2014-15, he said.
