Two persons were killed and five others were injured in an accident near Sinthalakarai on Madurai by-pass road under Ettayapuram police limits on Wednesday.
Sources said the victims were from T. Konakapadi of Omalur taluk in Salem district. P. Duraisamy (55), who drove a car, in which they were travelling to Tiruchendur from Salem, lost his control of the vehicle and dashed it against a parapet wall.
While Duraisamy and his relative Mani (49), wife of Rajendran, died, five others were injured and they were identified as D. Sathish Kumar (32), Alamelu (55), wife of Duraisamy, Suguna (30), wife of Sathish Kumar, D. Saranya (27) and his husband, Murugesan (31).
On a complaint lodged by Sathish Kumar, Ettayapuram police have filed a case.
