Two held for fixing camera in bathroom

Two persons who allegedly fitted a mini digital camera to the ceiling of a common bathroom to satisfy their voyeuristic pleasure are cooling their heels behind bars now.

They were identified as Vishnukumar and his friend Ramakrishnan. The police said one Thangavelu had rented out three houses and two shops near Teppakulam here. All the five tenants had a common bathroom.

One of the female tenants who had gone to take bath on Sunday found the camera on the tin-roofed bathroom and alerted the house owner. The camera was immediately removed, Inspector of Police (Teppakulam) M. Ramani said. Following a complaint, the police interrogated the suspects and found them to have bought two cameras from a local vendor on Tamilan Street. Vishnukumar, who runs a workshop, has already installed two cameras in his shop. Ramakrishnan helped him install the camera. The Inspector, however, said the camera had not become operational. It had no recording facility.
