The division bench of Justices M.M. Sundresh and N. Sathish Kumar on Friday vacated the stay granted by Justice T. Raja on the process of recruitment exam for the post of Special Teachers to be conducted by Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) on Saturday.

N. Rajesh Kanna, who had earlier filed a petition in the High Court against the exam notification, had moved the High Court bench against the conduct of the exam, stating that a common entrance exam was being conducted for the post of Physical Education Teacher in different categories such as primary, upper primary, secondary and high school levels. But, as per the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993, each category had different eligibility criteria, the petitioner had stated. Special Government Pleader V.R. Shanmuganathan, appearing for the Board, contended that about 50,000 candidates were about to write the exam, and the stay on the process would affect their future prospects.
