Training for police recruits from Nov. 1

It will be for 7 months with practical training for a month

A total of 350 recruits for the post of Police Constable would undergo training at the temporary Police Recruit School on Armed Reserve Ground premises here from November 1.

The Superintendent of Police, N. Manivannan, who inspected the facilities at the building where the PRS would be set up, said that the training would be for seven months at the PRS.

Besides, the recruits would undergo practical training in police stations for one month before they get formally get inducted into the force.

The training would be on law — Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Indian Evidence Act and functional knowledge in computer.

Besides, they would be giving training for swimming.

All the recruits would also strive to get their four-wheeler licence during the training.

Mr. Manivannan directed the Armed Reserve police officials to keep the premises clean and provide better accommodation for the recruits during their training.

Two new buildings have been constructed for the recruits.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters, Mr. Manivannan appealed to the parents to have a personal supervision over their children when they burst crackers.

He wanted them to take all precautionary measures like having water beside to put out flames in case of an accident.

He advised people not to stock crackers close to the source of fire with which the sparklers are lighted.

Besides, he said people should keep the crackers away from kitchen and stove.

“In case of crackers becoming damp due to rain, they should not try to heat the crackers with the help of stove,” he said.
