Various speakers demanded the State government to immediately redress the grievances of the employees working in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) without further delay.

The trade union associations included the CITU, ATP, TTSF, INTUC, AITUC, MLF, TUCC, PMK, among others.

Staging a dharna in front of the TNSTC head office here on Saturday, the members urged the government to drop the anti-employee attitude on several fronts and treat them with humane approach.

The undue delay ‘tactics' in disbursal of PF loans should be dropped by the authorities concerned.

Under the guise of improving diesel consumption efficiently for the Corporation, the officials imposed pressure on the employees and increased the number of working hours.

Such kinds of handling the drivers/conductors caused untold hardships and mental agony, the speakers claimed and insisted on the management to immediately appoint adequate staff in the maintenance department.
