After a gap of four days, power generation from the third unit of Tuticorin Thermal Power Station (TTPS) resumed at 1.30 p.m. here on Thursday.

With this, three units are functioning. Now, third, fourth and fifth units of the plant, with a capacity of 210 MW each, have been functioning.

The fall in wind power generation has prompted the need to resume generation from thermal power unit. In the wake of rain in parts of Kayathar, one of the potential sites of wind power generation, and another vital wind station in Aryankavu pass, there was drastic fall in wind power generation.
