AIADMK Headquarters podium speaker “Theepori” Arumugam, popular among partymen for his fiery speeches, returned to DMK which he had left nine years ago on Saturday, saying he felt ‘incarcerated’ all these years.

Arumugam joined the DMK in the presence of Union Minister and party South Zone Organising Secretary M. K. Alagiri.

“Being with AIADMK was like living in prison for the past nine years. I got the release today. Many of the AIADMK old timers, including former Ministers and senior leaders, have been joining the DMK now,” he told reporters.

AIADMK had now become “Kodainadu AIADMK”, he said taking a dig at Jayalalithaa for staying weeks together in the Kodainadu estate in the hilly Nilgiris District. He claimed that AIADMK could never come back to power again.
