Teachers urged to show interest in research work

The contemporary education demands research orientation and hence, the teaching fraternity should develop an appropriate research attitude in their fields, N. N. Prahllada, Associate Professor, Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysore, has said.

He spoke on the importance of cultivating research orientation while addressing a group of teacher educators of secondary/postgraduate level at the inauguration of a two-day national seminar on ‘research methodology and application of statistics' organised by the Centre for Educational Research (CER), Madurai Kamaraj University, here on Thursday. The seminar was inaugurated by G. Arivarignan, Professor and Head, Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, MKU. He also urged the participants to show interest towards taking up research work. S. Thangasamy, Director, CER, presided over the inaugural function.

Totally 55 teacher educators from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have attended the national seminar, according to a press release.
