Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) here has bagged a national award under ‘Best industry-linked institutions’ category.
All India Council of Technical Education and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) conducted a survey across the country based on which the award was given during ‘Knowledge Expo’ organised by the CII in New Delhi on Thursday, a release said. The college had bagged the award for best industry linkage in two departments — Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
The faculty led by Principal V. Abhaikumar received the award from Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani. The survey, which included site visits, was taken in over 500 colleges.
Dr. Abhaikumar said their curriculum was created in tandem with industries. Incubator facility, internship for students in industrial units, collaborative projects, etc., had made this award possible, he said.
