They abused Physical Education Teacher

March 01, 2014 09:07 am | Updated May 19, 2016 05:38 am IST - TUTICORIN:

Three students, who were thrashed by the van drivers of a school here, reportedly run by a former minister, have been admitted to hospital.

The police said a group of Class IX students from Geetha Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Muthiahpuram reportedly verbally abused their physical education teacher Gopi over mobile phone last Sunday even as two Class XI students were standing close to them.

When the affected teacher came to know of it, an enquiry was conducted on Wednesday.

“After the Class IX students, who teased the teacher, were beaten up, we were also thrashed by the school van drivers, Albert, Sudalai and another person. Since we sustained multiple injuries, our parents admitted us in Tuticorin Medical College Hospital around 11.30 p.m. on the same day,” said one of the injured students.

The Muthiahpuram police are on the lookout for the three persons who had allegedly beaten the three students.

Meanwhile, the students were discharged from the Tuticorin Medical College Hospital on Friday, and shifted to a private hospital here.
