Stir by Save MKU Coalition

Members of ‘Save Madurai Kamaraj University Coalition’ staged a protest in front of Madurai Kamaraj University on Friday. Members of Federation of Tamil Nadu Handicapped Association, human rights organisations, teacher associations and student federations took part in the protest, presided over by A. Srinivasan, coalition convenor.

The protestors said an inquiry should be initiated by the State government into what they termed the corrupt practices in the university administration. They demanded the resignation of Vice-Chancellor Kalyani Mathivanan.“Our immediate demand is that the syndicate should revoke the dismissal of research scholars J. Arun, A.C. Pandiarajan, temporary teaching assistant Ramachandran, allow differently abled research scholar P.J. Eswari to complete her fellowship, revoke the demotion of senior professor S. Krishnaswamy and suspension of staff members M. Parthasarathy and S. Ravikumar,” said Mr.Srinivasan.
