Stalin’s police escorts retrieve missing AK-47 magazine

The magazine of an AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 bullets, which was lost by a Central Reserve Police Force personnel, was traced here on Saturday, police said.

The CRPF soldier who was on escort duty for DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin lost the magazine in the airport in the chaos caused by hundreds of of party supporters gathering to give him a rousing reception on Friday.

Many passengers who arrived in the same domestic flight from Chennai found it tough to leave the airport as the DMK workers had assembled in large numbers blocking the exit points.

In the melee, one of the CRPF soldier realised that the magazine missing from his possession. Perungudi police received a complaint and registered a case.

Meanwhile, a senior officer in Madurai City Police said that a DMK worker had found the magazine and handed it over to the police. Further investigation is on.
