Special school in Madurai scores all pass

A school run by Indian Association for the Blind (IAB) at Sundararajanpatti near here turned out to be the only special school in the district to register centum pass in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations this year.

All 23 visually challenged students who wrote the Class X examinations this year cleared the examinations. A. Karthick Raja stood school first by scoring 464 out of 500 marks. Second and third place were secured by S. Hari Balakrishnan and N. Kowsalya who scored 454 and 450 marks respectively.

According to a press release issued by IAB general secretary S.M.A. Jinnah, three students of the school had scored over 90 per cent of marks, 13 students above 80 per cent and seven students above 70 per cent.
