Health care of the police personnel should be monitored meticulously to enable them to function effectively and efficiently. Special health camps should be conducted periodically for follow up and referral treatment should be ensured to all necessary personnel, said S.S. He was inaugurating a special health camp for police personnel and ministerial staff, first of its kind, here on Wednesday.
Some officials could be deputed at the district police office to maintain health records of all police personnel for follow up.
It would be difficult for the policemen to go to the hospital to check his health condition.
Every year
So, such health camps should be held every year on or before March 31, he advised.
In his special address, Collector M. Vallalar said that similar health camps would be conducted to officials in all departments separately.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Shailesh KumarYadav said that physical fitness was necessary for police men to work efficiently. They should take care of their health.
Superintendent of Police M.S. Muthusamy said there were several special features in this camp.
It was compulsory to all the police personnel and ministerial staff aged 50 years and above.

A copy of case history would be kept as records in district police office for future reference and quick action in case of emergency.
Moreover, the pocket-sized health card given to every police personnel would have all clinical details such as blood group, cholesterol, sugar and urea level and ECG.
In case of emergency, this card would help the personnel to get treated while on duty even in other districts, he added.
A team of doctors from Dindigul Government hospital tested 340 police personnel in the district.
