Special counters have been opened on the ground floor of Passenger Reservation System Complex, Madurai, to enable rail passengers to pay the difference in fare following the recent revision. The counter will work between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., and 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Another special counter has been opened at the information centre in the concourse of Madurai Railway Junction.
It would be open round-the-clock for collection of difference in fare, Divisional Commercial Officer N. Mahesh said in a statement.
Passengers in other locations could approach Passenger Reservation System counters and Station Ticket Examiners for making the payment.
The passengers could also pay the difference of fare to the Ticket Examiners in the trains.
However, as far as possible passengers could make payment of dues at stations itself as it would be convenient and hassle-free for them, the statement said.
