Smart City logo contest

The first board meeting of the Madurai Smart City Limited (MSCL) was held under the chairmanship of P.W.C. Davidar, Chairman, Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation, recently. Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Nanduri, who is the Managing Director of the company, said the meeting discussed the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer and analysed the Detailed Project Reports submitted so far.

The Corporation had taken up a number of initiativeswith focus on total sanitation, beginning with areas in and around Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple. The Commissioner said that the board shortlisted the DPRs, which were ready, and heritage-related projectswould be taken up. Inviting participation from designer firms, students and professionals to contribute a special logo, brand name and tag line for Madurai Smart City, Mr. Sandeep Nanduri said that the logo and tagline should reflect the rich cultural heritage and ambitious smart and futuristic plans for the city. The designs along with a brief write up on the logic behind the choice shall be mailed to mducorp@gmail.com or sent as hard copy to the office of Commissioner, Madurai Corporation, before March 17. All the entries would be posted online for a vote and the top three would get prizes of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000, he added.
