Rs.50-crore facility to be set up in GRH

Integrated maternity and child complex soon

Construction work on the proposed integrated maternity and child complex in the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) here is expected to begin soon.

C. Vamsadhara, Director of Medical Education, visited the GRH on Saturday and held discussions with the hospital authorities to finalise the site for construction of the facility estimated to cost Rs. 50 crore with fund support from the Central and State governments.

In the morning, Dr.Vamsadhara explained the facilities that would be available in the new complex which she said would take gynaecology and child care services to a higher level. Equipment to be procured for the integrated complex was discussed. It will have staff quarters, car parking lot for doctors and a separate canteen, according to authorities.

Collector Anshul Mishra, who had a meeting with GRH employees, asked them to be patient-friendly while discharging their duties. Dean N. Mohan and senior hospital officials participated. The implementation of Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme was reviewed.
