Southern Railway has extended and modified the cancellation and rescheduling of some train services due to on-going yard re-modelling work in Madurai station

Southern Railway has extended and modified the cancellation and rescheduling of some train services due to technical reasons in the on-going yard re-modelling work in Madurai station yard up to October 20.

Additional cancellations/Trains Fully Cancelled: Train No. 22621 Rameswaram-Kanniyakumari Tri-weekly express that was already cancelled on September 29 and October 1, 4,6, 8 and 11, would be additionally cancelled on October 13, 15 and 18 also, a statement said.

Train No. 22622 Kanniyakumari-Rameswaram Tri-weekly express, already cancelled on September 30, October 2, 5, 7, 9 and 12 would be additionally cancelled on October 14, 15, and 19 also.

Trains partially cancelled: Train No. 12635 Chennai Egmore-Madurai Vaigai Express that was already partially cancelled between Koodal Nagar and Madurai from September 30 to October 12, would be additionally cancelled from October 13 to 19 between Koodal Nagar and Madurai.

This train would be Koodal Nagar at 9.15 p.m.

Train No. 12636 Madurai-Chennai Egmore Vaigai express, already partially cancelled between Madurai and Koodal Nagar from October 1 to 13 would be cancelled up to October 20 between Madurai and Koodal Nagar. This train will leave Koodal Nagar at 6.55 a.m.

Train No. 12637 Chennai Egmore-Madurai Pandian express leaving Chennai Egmore, already partially cancelled between Koodal Nagar and Madurai from September 29 to October 12, would be additionally cancelled till October 19. This train would arrive Koodal Nagar at 7.05 a.m.

Train No. 12638 Madurai-Chennai Egmore Pandian express, already partially cancelled between Madurai and Koodal Nagar from September 30 to October 12 would be additionally cancelled till October 19. This train will leave Koodal Nagar at 8.45 p.m.

Revised cancellation: Train No. 56707 Dindigul-Madurai passenger which was fully cancelled from October 5 to 8 earlier would run as per schedule on these days.

Instead, this train would be fully cancelled from October 12 to 15.

Train No. 56708 Madurai-Dindigul passenger which was fully cancelled from October 5 to 8 earlier would run as per schedule on these days. Instead, this train would be fully cancelled from October 12 to 15.

Train No. 56709 Dindigul-Madurai passenger which was fully cancelled from October 5 to 8 earlier would run as per schedule on these days.

Instead, this train would be fully cancelled from October 12 to 15. Train No. 56710 Madurai-Dindigul passenger which was fully cancelled from October 5 to 8 earlier would run as per schedule on these days. Instead, this train would be fully cancelled from October 12 to 15.

Train No. 56734 Sengottah-Madurai passenger which was partially cancelled between Virudhunagar and Madurai on October 12 would run as per schedule. Instead, this train will be partially cancelled between Virudhunagar and Madurai on October 19.

Train No. 56735 Madurai- Sengottah passenger which was partially cancelled between Madurai and Virudhunagar on October 12 would run as per schedule. This train would be partially cancelled between Virudunagar and Madurai on October 19.

Revised partial cancellation: Train No. 56319 Nagercoil-Coimbatore passenger that has been partially cancelled on October 5 between Virudhunagar and Dindigul instead of Madurai and Dindigul as advised earlier. In addition to the above, this train will be partially cancelled on October 6 between Virudhunagar and Madurai, from October 7 to 11 between Madurai and Dindigul and on October 12 and 19 between Virudhunagar and Dindigul.

Train No. 56320 Coimbatore-Nagercoil passenger has been partially cancelled on between Dindigul-Virudhunagar on October 5 instead of Dindigul-Madurai as advised earlier.

In additiona to the above, this train will be partially cancelled on October 6 between Madurai and Virudhunagar, from October 7 to 11 between Dindigul-Madurai and on October 12 & 19 between Dindigul-Virudhunagar.

Trains Rescheduled Train No. 22628 Tirunelveli-Tiruchchirappalli Intercity express which was rescheduled to leave Tirunelveli on October 12 would run as per schedule.

Instead, this train would be rescheduled to leave Tirunelveli at 3.15 p.m. on October 7 and 19 (2 days only).

Trains Regulated at Dindigul: Train No. 16788 Jammutawi-Tirunelveli bi-weekly express which was regulated for 60 minutes at Dindigul station on October 4 would run as per schedule. Instead, this train would be regulated at Dindigul station on October 11 for 60 minutes.

Train No. 16127 Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur express which was regulated for 85 minutes at Dindigul station on October 12 would run as per schedule.

Instead, this train will be regulated at Dindigul station on October 19 for 85 minutes.

Train No. 56825 Erode/Mayiladuturai-Tirunelveli passenger which was regulated for 40 minutes at Dindigul station on October 12 would run as per schedule. Instead, this train would be regulated at Dindigul station on October 19 for 40 minutes.

Augmented

The Southern Railway has permanently augmented the following trains with additional coaches.

Train No.16733/16734 Rameswaram-Okha-Rameswaram weekly express would be permanently augmented with one sleeper class coach. The first service from Rameswaram would commence on October 5 (Friday) and from Okha on October 9 (Tuesday), a statement said.

Train No.12651/12652 Madurai-Nizamuddin-Madurai Sampark Kranti Bi-weekly express has been permanently augmented with one sleeper class coach. The first service from Madurai commenced on October 1 (Monday) and would commence from Nizamuddin on October 4 (Thursday).

Train No.22624/22623 Madurai-Chennai Egmore-Madurai Bi-weekly express would be permanently augmented with one sleeper class coach. The first service from Madurai would commence from October 4 (Thursday) and Chennai Egmore from October 5 (Friday).

Train No.12641/12642 Kanniyakumari-Nizamuddin-Kanniyakumari Tirukkural weekly express has been permanently augmented with one AC- 3 tier coach and one sleeper class coach. The first service from Kanniyakumari commenced on October 3 (Wednesday) and from Nizamuddin on October 6 (Saturday), the statement added.
