According to Collector S. Nagarajan, those wanting to put up advertisement hoardings in municipality and town panchayat limits have to get prior permission from the Collector

All the advertisement hoardings and flex boards which have been put up in different parts of the district without obtaining permission from the Collector would have to be removed by the advertisers themselves.

According to Collector S. Nagarajan, those wanting to put up advertisement hoardings in municipality and town panchayat limits have to get prior permission from the Collector as per GO No. 47 of the Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 26.3.2003. Likewise under GO No 41 of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department dated 18.5.09, advertisers have to get permission from the District Collector to put up hoardings in the village panchayat limits.

Moreover to erect digital banners and flex boards, advertisers have to get permission from the Collector under GO No 175 of Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, dated 16.11.11.

But in violation of these government orders, many flex boards and advertisements hoardings have been erected in various places.

Therefore such advertisement hoardings and digital banners erected without permission should be removed without causing any inconvenience to the public.

In case of failure to remove them, police action would be initiated against the violators and all such banners and flex boards would be removed by the respective town panchayat executive officers, municipality commissioners and block development officers, the Collector said.
