Two tenth standard girls consumed ‘anti-lice’ solution after their teacher asked them to collect their record notebooks, which they claimed they had left at home, in Mooduvarapatti under Palamedu police station limits on Wednesday.

The police said that the condition of the girls, admitted to the Government Rajaji hospital, was stable.

The Palamedu police have picked up the lady teacher for questioning.

When the teacher at the Government high school at Mooduvarpatti asked all the students of her class to submit their practical record notebooks, the two students claimed that they had inadvertently left them at their homes. The teacher asked them to go back home to collect them.

However, the police said, the two had left the school in the morning but did not return till afternoon.  They consumed the solution kept in one of their house.  The parents rushed them to hospital.
