Passengers can call 80561-62724 to air their grievance
Now, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Madurai junction, has come out with a helpline. Railway passengers who come to the station or onboard any train running anywhere can call 80561-62724 to air their grievance or complain about security-related issues.
The Divisional Security Commissioner, S. Balasubramanian, launched the helpline that would function round the clock at Madurai.
“People can contact over this number for any kind of assistance. Even if they are travelling in a train outside Madurai railway division, they can contact us and the information would be passed on to the RPF station concerned to ensure that they get timely assistance,” he said.
People may complain about security related issues and nuisance caused by co-passengers in the running train. Besides, they can complain about luggage missed in trains. “We will help to trace the luggage with the help of RPF personnel on the train and also in other railway stations,” he said.
The Assistant Security Commissioner, Philip Jayakumar, said that the RPF personnel would closely coordinate with the Tamil Nadu Railway Police in helping the passengers.
The helpline of TRP is 99625-00500.
The Madurai Station Manager, C. Lenin Kumar, RPF Inspector, R. Venu, and TRP Sub-Inspector, M. Kannan, were among those who were present.
