Over 100 members of the Tamil Nadu Farmers’ Association were arrested near the Collectorate premises for protesting against the Land Acquisition Act.

“We demanded that the Land Acquisition Act, which has been hurriedly amended by the Centre, should be revoked as it poses a threat to our livelihood. The government should not implement, it if it wants to protect the interests of the farmers,” said Durai Manickam, State secretary.
