Over 6,000 candidates appear for the test

A large number of young aspirants assembled with a lot of optimism at the Armed Reserve Grounds where physical endurance tests, as part of selection process for police recruitment, began in Madurai on Tuesday.

The candidates started arriving on the New Natham Road as early as 6 a.m. from different parts. Senior officers and those police personnel on duty alone were permitted inside the sprawling grounds. Friends and relatives of the aspirants were kept off the venue.

Media persons were permitted for a specific time to take photos and videos. According to the officers, various field track events are being held for the candidates. Verification of the original certificates was carried out and recording of information such as height and weight of the candidates were noted. Over 6,000 candidates appeared for the test.
