They stage a dharna near the Collector’s office in support of their nine-point charter of demands.

One hundred and four physically challenged persons, including 44 women, were detained when they held a dharna near the Collector’s office here in support of their nine-point charter of demands.

Led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) MLA, R. Annadurai, the members of Differently Abled Persons’ Welfare Association raised slogans in support of their demands.

Their main demand was three per cent reservation in government jobs. They were released later.

Tirunelveli

Police arrested 188 differently-abled persons including sixteen women and five children as they blocked vehicular traffic at Tirunelveli Railway Junction on Tuesday.
